AFTERNOON TEA PARTY
We will surely remember March 6th 2025 for a long time. That Thursday afternoon students from Slovenia, Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands (Spain) and students from Estonia gathered for a social event that we named Afternoon Tea Party (although there was actually no tea!). Our guests from Estonia and Spain brought with them some food and drinks from their country and we also prepared some typical Slovenian dishes and snacks. Because everyone brought something typical from their homeland, we were able to taste different dishes and snacks and share experiences. We had music playing, so we danced, had fun, and made new friendships.
The event was particularly emotional as we said goodbye to the Estonians, who were finishing their stay, while at the same time welcoming the Spaniards, who were just beginning their experience. The afternoon was filled with laughter, good spirits, and unforgettable moments. We hope that we will have a chance to organize a similiar event in the future. Picture/video Gallery.

And here are some of the impressions from different students:
A unique and very fun experience that will stay with us forever.

The most interesting thing for me was that they thought Velenje was very big and that our prices were lower than in Estonia. They also told us that they are allowed to keep their phones in their pockets during lessons. ☹

The party of yesterday I liked it a lot, the part I liked the most was the Just Dance and getting to know the people a little bit.
Yesterday’s party was very well-atmosphered, with typical Slovenian songs and then Canarian ones, with Just Dance dancing and the food was very tasty.

I found the Estonian students’ English skills the most interesting because they spoke very fluently, and you could have a proper conversation with them. I also enjoyed seeing their reactions to Slovenian cuisine, which they really liked.

I really liked the party because there were very nice people, music, food and we even got to play soccer, and it is a moment that I will not forget.

At first I was afraid of not being accepted but I let myself follow the flow.

This school was really nice and fun to be in. People were so friendly and it was easy to make friends. The tea party was really fun and it was fun to try the different foods and dance. The chemistry lesson was so fun and the teacher did an amazing job making the lesson really fun. Also the city was really beatiful. Overall my stay in Slovenia and in the school couldn’t have been better.

I really liked Slovenia and their school. I noticed that people in Slovenia are much friendlier than in Estonia. I liked the chemistry and cooking lessons in their school the most. I also noticed that Slovenia is similar to Switzerland in some ways. I liked the architecture of the city and the atmosphere.
Marianna
I liked the party where we had different kinds of snacks (chips, croissants, chocolate, candy etc.) and juices. I liked when we played football too (I still can’t feel my legs 😊).
Lana
I think it was a really cool party because there was dancing. Everything was just right—dancing, food, and socializing. I think it was a really awesome tea party. I really liked it.

When we arrived at the school in Slovenia, it was very interesting—everyone was looking at us at first. The days at this school were fun and active. The students and teachers spoke English very well. The students were friendly, and so were the teachers. The party was exciting and enjoyable.

I really loved interacting with everyone since they were all so nice. The students were so kind and welcoming, I didn’t feel out of place at all. The different customs and traditions were fascinating and fun to learn about. The party was an amazing idea and I had SO much fun. I met so many new people and this trip has been such a blast.

I thought the party was great. It was very interesting for me when we tried snacks from other nations (Spanish and Estonian). I thought it was interesting how different traditional food we have around the world. We had fun and danced with the visitors. We talked about different topics together and got to know each other.

My experience
My experience was really incredible and I really liked it. The people were really nice and when we came to the school they were greeting us and saying hello.
Really cool thing was the carnival where the creatures were walking in the circle and making noise. I could just stand and watch the creatures dancing really close.
It was fun to watch and see other traditions.
We had really good workshops that I really liked. The games and exercises in the workshops were really cool and I liked them.
I really liked PE, because we were playing volleyball and the people there were nice.
The chemistry workshop was really cool and I really liked it. We were doing different experiments that were really cool. I learned much in that workshop.
The last thing was thing was the party which was really cool and I liked it. All the people had to food home from their home country and I could try different foods. Also the dancing was really fun. I really liked the party.
